Wow, what a week and how fun this has all been! I wanted to give an update on how my campaign is going and what a typical day looks like for someone running for candidacy. During the week, I generally meet with passionate community members during my lunch or right after work – then I typically have a fundraiser, meet n greet, or a forum (I’ve participated in two forums thus far: Idaho Moms for a Brighter Future and the Boise Central Labor Council) in my evenings. On the weekends, it is a circus! Today, for instance, I woke up and cut turf (crafted maps for people to door knock) for three hours, I then had lunch with the National Association of Social Workers – the Idaho Chapter for a potential endorsement, next – I hosted a training for door knocking at the Library, then printed maps for our door knocking kick-off tomorrow, and I have spent the last three hours writing email updates to my supporters, responding to questionnaires, responding to meeting requests, and updating my blog! Meanwhile – behind the scenes, my team of 11 have been doing just about the same amount of work each day! I have people researching, sending invites to our events, helping me cut and print maps, filling my head with good ideas.
This has been a truly amazing experience, and I look forward to the next 8 weeks flying by. I am learning SO much. I want to share some of that knowledge with my supporters on two topics: housing and conservation in Idaho! Join me this month at either or both of the following event / fundraisers!
September 16th (Saturday) 11 am – Conservation Hike-a-Thon
September 20th (Wednesday) 730 pm – Housing Film & Wine Night
